PorroVita was started in 2012 by juicevangelist Chase Bray. The idea came to him one day after he’d finished a weeklong juice cleanse. No stranger to the occasional restorative cleanse, he realized that as usual, he felt amazing. Healthy, motivated, clear-headed and energized. But this time, instead of just enjoying the boost, he wanted to find a way to share it with the world. Or at least with Newport Beach.
So naturally, he did what any chronically enthusiastic, juice-loving entrepreneur would do; he decided to start a juice joint of his own.
A student at Vanguard University, he put his education to work and developed a business plan for the juicery–he even got credit for it. The name? It came to him while flipping through a Latin dictionary during some downtime. “Porro” and “vita.” Mashed up they mean “long life.” Perfect. Because that’s what juicing is all about. Fueling the dream with pure, fresh-crushed, cold-pressed fruits and vegetables and living long, happy, healthy lives.
And PorroVita was born.
With the help of a nutritionist, he created a whole menu of wholesome, crazy-delicious and super-natural signature concoctions. Kale-i-Fornia. Green e-Lemonator. Luv Ur Liver. Tigers Blood. The recipes flowed and each one turned out better (and better for you) than the last. Preservative-free and nutrient packed. Never cooked or pasteurized. Made from only fresh, clean fruits and veggies, and nothing else.
After that, the only thing left to do was hire a crew of expert juice puristas to help him re-create his juicy recipes. So he enlisted the help of some of the sunniest, surfiest locals in town. And the rest is history. The shop’s motley crew has been crushing it with healthy servings of liquid nature ever since.
